My journey

Born in Portobello, Edinburgh, my path to painting was not straightforward. I spent years working across London, Dublin, and Galway in the Information Technology sector, collaborating with international companies and building a career shaped by structure, logic, chaos and problem‑solving.

Life changed unexpectedly, and work was no longer possible. During a long period of recovery, I discovered painting — not as a hobby, but as a lifeline. Art Therapy became a source of calm, focus, and renewal. Paint and brushes replaced routine and pressure, opening my eyes to colour, hue, tone, and medium in ways I had never experienced.

Exhibition Context

This exhibition brings together landscapes, abstractions, architectural scenes, and expressive studies that represent my journey — from recovery to rediscovery, from grey to colour.

Each piece invites viewers to pause, breathe, and notice the details that make the world extraordinary.

Studio/Home

I work primarily in Oils, Watercolour, and Acrylic, exploring how each medium expresses emotion differently. My artwork ranges from:

  • Large landscapes that capture atmosphere and movement
  • Still life pieces that explore quiet detail
  • Postcards, illustrations, and sketches that celebrate overlooked moments

Across all formats, I paint to reveal the world’s subtle beauty — the colours and moods that exist beyond daily routine.

My Philosophy

The world is often seen through a lens of hassle, repetition, and grey. My paintings challenge that perception. Through colour, transparency, opacity, and texture, I explore how emotion shapes what we see.

Painting reflects the colour of my mind — from calm and cool to warm and vibrant. It allows me to express details in nature that I never noticed until I began painting and now cannot ignore.

“The world’s reflection is not just in grey; it comes with a multitude of shapes, colours, moods, and emotions.”
